Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Gradually add the flour, mixing until a soft dough forms. It may look crumbly at first—keep mixing until it comes together.
  • Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough and roll them into balls. Place on the prepared baking sheet about 2 inches apart.
  • Gently flatten each ball with the bottom of a glass or your palm.
  • Bake for 12–14 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  • Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
