Ingredients
  

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, sliced into cutlets
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup Italian-style breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • as needed olive oil spray or cooking spray

Instructions
 

  • Slice each chicken breast in half horizontally to create thinner cutlets. Season with salt and pepper on both sides.
  • In one bowl, beat the egg. In another bowl, combine the breadcrumbs and grated Parmesan.
  • Dip each chicken cutlet in the egg, then press into the breadcrumb mixture to coat evenly.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 360°F (182°C) for 2-3 minutes. Lightly spray the basket with oil.
  • Place the chicken in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Air fry for 6 minutes.
  • Flip the chicken cutlets. Spoon marinara sauce on each piece, then top with shredded mozzarella.
  • Air fry for another 3-4 minutes, until the cheese is melted and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  • Remove from the air fryer, garnish with fresh basil or parsley if desired, and serve immediately.
