Ingredients
  

  • 24 fresh clams, scrubbed and rinsed
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup green bell pepper, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup red bell pepper, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup shallots, minced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup seasoned breadcrumbs
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C). Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper.
  • Place clams in a large skillet with a splash of water. Cover and steam over medium heat until the clams open, about 5–7 minutes. Discard any unopened clams.
  • Remove the top shell from each clam and loosen the meat from the bottom shell. Arrange on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add chopped peppers, shallots, and garlic. Sauté until softened, about 4–5 minutes.
  • Stir in breadcrumbs, parsley, lemon juice, and red pepper flakes. Season with salt and pepper. Mix well to form a moist stuffing.
  • Spoon a small amount of the stuffing mixture onto each clam. Press down gently to pack.
  • Bake for 8–10 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and crisp.
  • Serve hot with lemon wedges on the side for squeezing, and enjoy immediately.
