Ingredients

  • 12 slices beef cut in half
  • 1 lb breakfast sausage mild or spicy
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup cream cheese softened
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika optional for color
  • to taste fresh jalapeño slices optional for heat
  • 12 toothpicks for securing beef

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease a muffin tin.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the sausage, cream cheese, cheddar cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. Stir until fully combined.
  • Take each half slice of beef and wrap it around the edges of a muffin tin, securing the ends with a toothpick to form a 'cup.'
  • Fill each beef cup generously with the sausage mixture, but do not overfill as the sausage will expand while baking.
  • Place a jalapeño slice on top of each filled Beef shot, if desired, for a spicy kick.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the beef is crispy and the sausage is fully cooked.
  • For extra crispy beef, broil the Beef shots for an additional 2-3 minutes. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
