Ingredients
  

  • 2 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or melted butter
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 piece lemon wedge (optional, for serving)

Instructions
 

  • In a small bowl, combine the smoked paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, dried thyme, dried oregano, cayenne pepper, black pepper, and salt.
  • Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels. Brush both sides with olive oil or melted butter.
  • Generously coat both sides of the chicken breasts with the Cajun seasoning blend.
  • Heat a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes until hot.
  • Place the chicken breasts in the hot skillet and cook for 5-6 minutes per side, or until blackened and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  • Remove the chicken from the skillet and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
  • Serve with a wedge of lemon on the side, if desired.
