Cook the bowtie pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and cook for 3 minutes until soft.
Add minced garlic and cook for another 30 seconds until fragrant.
Add ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned. Drain excess fat if necessary.
Stir in diced tomatoes, tomato paste, beef broth, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Simmer for 5–7 minutes.
Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and mix well to coat the pasta in the sauce.
Stir in cheddar and mozzarella cheeses until melted and creamy.
