Ingredients
  

  • 2 slices sandwich bread
  • 1 cooked chicken breast, sliced
  • 1/2 ripe avocado, sliced
  • 2 slices cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon lime juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon butter or olive oil (for grilling)
  • to taste salt
  • to taste black pepper

Instructions
 

  • In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, lime juice, garlic powder, and a pinch of salt and pepper.
  • Spread the mayo mixture on one side of each slice of bread.
  • Layer on one slice: cheddar cheese, sliced chicken, avocado, then remaining cheese. Top with the second slice of bread, mayo-side down.
  • Heat butter or olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Place the sandwich in the skillet and cook until golden brown and cheese starts to melt, about 3–4 minutes per side, pressing gently with a spatula.
  • Remove the sandwich from the skillet, let it rest for a minute, then slice in half and serve warm.
