This comforting casserole combines seasoned ground beef, tender rice, and gooey melted cheese for a family-friendly meal that’s perfect for busy weeknights. It’s easy to make, filling, and totally customizable!
In a large oven-safe skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess grease.
Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook until the onion softens, about 3 minutes.
Stir in the uncooked rice, beef broth, tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, diced tomatoes (if using), Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and paprika. Mix well.
Bring the mixture to a simmer, cover, and cook for about 15 minutes, or until the rice has absorbed most of the liquid and is tender.
Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the top of the casserole. Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake, uncovered, for 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy!
