Ingredients
  

  • 1 (22 oz) bag frozen shredded hash browns, thawed and well-drained
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup finely diced onion
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste
  • Nonstick cooking spray

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper and lightly coat it with nonstick cooking spray.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the thawed hash browns, shredded cheese, diced onion, melted butter, olive oil, salt, and pepper. Mix until everything is evenly distributed.
  • Spread the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet in an even layer, about ½ inch thick. Use a spatula to press down firmly to compact the mixture slightly.
  • Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the edges are deeply golden brown and crispy. For extra crispiness, broil for an additional 2–3 minutes at the end, keeping a close eye to avoid burning.
  • Let the hash browns cool for a few minutes before slicing into squares or wedges. Serve hot with sour cream, fresh herbs, or hot sauce if desired.
