Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (optional, for extra richness)
  • 16 Oreo cookies (crushed, for the “dirt”)
  • 12 strawberries (washed and dried)
  • 1 cup orange candy melts (or white chocolate + orange food coloring)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together melted butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • In another bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  • Fold in chocolate chips if using. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Let cool completely.
  • While the brownies cool, crush the Oreos into fine crumbs using a food processor or a zip-top bag and rolling pin.
  • Melt the orange candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl according to package instructions. If using white chocolate, stir in orange food coloring until vibrant. Add a teaspoon of coconut oil for smoother texture if desired.
  • Dip each strawberry into the melted candy coating, ensuring full coverage. Place on parchment paper to set. Once partially hardened, drizzle extra melted candy over the strawberries to create carrot lines. Let harden completely.
  • Spread the crushed Oreos evenly over the cooled brownies to create the “dirt.” Gently press the candy-coated strawberries into the brownies to resemble carrots growing in soil.
  • Slice into squares and serve at room temperature. Enjoy!

Notes

For gluten-free brownies, use gluten-free flour and cookies. To make vegan, substitute dairy-free butter, flax eggs, and dairy-free chocolate.
