12ounceschocolate (milk, dark, or white)(for coating)
1teaspooncoconut oil or vegetable oil(optional, for smoother chocolate coating)
sprinkles, crushed Oreos, or contrasting chocolate drizzle(optional, for decoration)
Instructions
Crush the Oreos: Place the Oreos in a food processor and pulse until they are fine crumbs. Alternatively, place them in a resealable plastic bag and crush them with a rolling pin.
Combine with Cream Cheese: In a mixing bowl, combine the Oreo crumbs with softened cream cheese. Mix until fully incorporated and a dough-like consistency forms.
Shape the Balls: Scoop out small portions of the mixture (about 1 tablespoon each) and roll them into smooth balls. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to firm up.
Melt the Chocolate: Melt the chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring every 20-30 seconds until smooth and glossy. For a smoother coating, stir in 1 teaspoon of coconut oil or vegetable oil.
Dip the Balls: Using a fork or toothpick, dip each chilled Oreo ball into the melted chocolate, ensuring it is fully coated. Allow excess chocolate to drip off before placing the coated balls back onto the parchment-lined sheet.
Decorate and Set: While the chocolate is still wet, add sprinkles, crushed Oreos, or a drizzle of contrasting chocolate for decoration. Let the balls set in the refrigerator for at least 15-30 minutes, or until the chocolate hardens.
Serve and Enjoy: Once set, serve the Oreo balls chilled or at room temperature. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
Notes
For a minty twist, use mint-flavored Oreos and white chocolate coating. To prevent sticking, chill the Oreo balls before dipping and let them set completely after coating.
