Ingredients

  • 1 can refrigerated crescent dough (8 oz)
  • 1/4 cup Dijon or yellow mustard
  • 24 pieces mini hot dogs or cocktail franks
  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten
  • 1 tablespoon poppy seeds or sesame seeds (optional)
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 3 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon whole grain mustard

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with foil and lightly grease it.
  • Unroll the crescent dough and spread each triangle lightly with mustard. Cut each triangle into three smaller strips.
  • Place one cocktail frank at the large end of each dough triangle and roll up tightly.
  • Place the rolled-up pigs in a blanket seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
  • In a small bowl, beat the egg with a splash of water to make an egg wash. Brush the top of each wrapped hot dog with the egg wash and sprinkle with sesame or poppy seeds, if desired.
  • Bake for 15 minutes, or until golden brown.
  • While the pigs in a blanket bake, mix together sour cream, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, and whole grain mustard to make the dipping sauce.
  • Serve the pigs in a blanket warm with the dipping sauce on the side.
