Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp lemon zest (optional)
  • 1 tbsp chopped parsley (optional)
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  • Trim the ends off the Brussels sprouts and slice them in half. Pat them dry with a paper towel.
  • In a large bowl, toss Brussels sprouts with olive oil, garlic, salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes if using.
  • Arrange Brussels sprouts cut-side down on the baking sheet in a single layer.
  • Roast for 20 minutes, then remove from oven and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
  • Return to the oven and roast for another 5 minutes, until the cheese is melted and golden.
  • Garnish with lemon zest and chopped parsley if desired. Serve immediately.
