Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb medium shrimp, deveined and tails removed
  • 1 lb spaghetti noodles
  • 6-8 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 3 drizzles olive oil
  • to taste Italian seasoning
  • to taste fresh ground pepper
  • to taste red pepper flakes
  • to taste salt
  • to taste herbs (optional)
  • 1 cup pasta water, reserved from boiling

Instructions
 

  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook spaghetti noodles until al dente, following package directions. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water and drain the noodles.
  • While the pasta is cooking, wash the shrimp thoroughly and set aside.
  • In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add shrimp and cook until they turn pink and curl, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  • Add minced garlic to the skillet and cook for another 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Drizzle olive oil into the skillet, stirring well to coat the shrimp and garlic.
  • Add the cooked pasta to the skillet with the shrimp and garlic. Toss together, then sprinkle with Italian seasoning, fresh ground pepper, red pepper flakes, and salt to taste.
  • Gradually add reserved pasta water, a quarter cup at a time, until the dish reaches your desired consistency.
  • Toss everything together until well mixed and heated through. Serve immediately, garnished with fresh herbs and a squeeze of lemon if desired.
