Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface to your desired thickness (about 10×14 inches).
Place the puff pastry on the prepared baking sheet. Score a ½-inch border around the edges with a knife and prick the center with a fork.
Brush the edges of the pastry with the beaten egg to enhance golden browning.
Blind bake the pastry for 8–10 minutes until slightly puffed and just turning golden.
Remove from oven and spread the pizza sauce within the scored border.
Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese and add your desired toppings.
Return to the oven and bake for another 10–12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the crust is golden brown.
