Pull-Apart Apple Bread is a warm, sweet, and sticky loaf made of layers of soft dough filled with cinnamon-sugar apples. Perfect for sharing at breakfast, brunch, or dessert time.
In a small saucepan, heat milk and butter until the butter melts. Remove from heat, stir in water and vanilla extract, and cool to lukewarm.
In a large bowl, whisk together 2 cups of flour, sugar, yeast, and salt. Add milk mixture and eggs. Stir to combine, then add remaining flour to form a soft dough.
Knead dough for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
Mix diced apples, brown sugar, and cinnamon in a bowl.
Punch down dough and roll into a large rectangle. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle apple mixture evenly over it.
Cut dough into strips, stack the strips, then cut into squares. Stand squares upright in a greased loaf pan.
Cover and let rise for 30-45 minutes. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
Bake for 35-40 minutes, covering with foil if the top browns too quickly.
Whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla to make glaze. Drizzle over warm bread before serving pull-apart style.
