Ingredients
  

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts chicken breasts
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup Italian-style breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil or parsley (optional)

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Pound chicken breasts to 1/2-inch thickness and season with salt and pepper.
  • Set up breading stations with flour, beaten eggs, and breadcrumb mixture with Parmesan, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  • Dredge chicken in flour, then eggs, then breadcrumb mixture, pressing to coat well.
  • Heat olive oil in an oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Cook chicken for 3-4 minutes per side until golden and crispy.
  • Lower heat to medium-low and spoon marinara sauce over chicken breasts.
  • Sprinkle shredded mozzarella over the chicken and sauce.
  • Transfer skillet to oven and bake for 10-15 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly and chicken is cooked through (165°F internal temperature).
  • Remove from oven, garnish with fresh basil or parsley, and serve immediately.
