Ingredients

  • 2 racks baby back ribs or St. Louis-style ribs
  • 2 tablespoons yellow mustard used as a binder
  • ¼ cup BBQ dry rub your favorite blend
  • ½ cup apple juice for spritzing
  • ½ cup water for spritzing
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce for glazing
  • 2 tablespoons honey for glazing
  • 1 tablespoon butter for glazing
  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce optional, for heat

Instructions

  • Preheat the smoker to 250°F and use hickory, apple, or cherry wood for balanced smoky flavor.
  • Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs for better texture. Cut the ribs into individual pieces or 3-4 rib sections for party-size servings.
  • Coat the ribs with yellow mustard as a binder, then generously apply BBQ dry rub on both sides.
  • Place ribs on the smoker and smoke for 2.5 to 3 hours. Every hour, spritz with a mixture of apple juice and water to keep the ribs moist.
  • For the glaze, combine BBQ sauce, honey, butter, and hot sauce in a saucepan. Warm over low heat.
  • During the last 30 minutes of smoking, brush the glaze over the ribs and allow it to caramelize.
  • Remove the ribs from the smoker and let them rest for 10 minutes before slicing them into individual portions.
  • Serve with extra BBQ sauce and enjoy your delicious smoked party ribs!
