Spicy Cauliflower Burgers are a hearty, plant-based alternative to traditional meat burgers. These crispy patties are made from roasted cauliflower, quinoa, and a perfect blend of spices that bring both flavor and heat. Whether you are vegetarian or just looking for something new, these burgers are sure to satisfy!
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Toss cauliflower florets with olive oil, salt, and spices. Roast on a baking sheet for 25–30 minutes until golden brown. Let cool slightly.
Pulse the roasted cauliflower in a food processor until finely chopped. Combine with cooked quinoa, breadcrumbs, cheese (if using), garlic powder, cumin, paprika, chili powder, cayenne, and a pinch of salt and pepper.
Add in the egg (or flax egg for vegan version) and mix until the ingredients hold together. If the mixture is too wet, add more breadcrumbs to achieve a firm consistency.
Form the mixture into 4-6 firm patties. Heat a tablespoon of olive oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat and cook the patties for 4-5 minutes per side until crispy and golden.
Lightly toast the burger buns in a dry skillet or oven for extra texture.
Assemble the burgers by spreading spicy mayo or chipotle aioli on the bun, adding the cauliflower patty, and topping with slaw, avocado, pickled onions, and cilantro. Serve hot.
