Ingredients
  

  • 2 ounces mezcal
  • 1 ounce fresh lime juice
  • 1 ounce fresh pineapple juice
  • 1/2 ounce orange liqueur (like triple sec or Cointreau)
  • 1/2 ounce agave nectar (adjust to taste)
  • 2-3 slices fresh jalapeño (plus more for garnish)
  • ice
  • Tajín or chili-lime salt (optional, for rimming)
  • lime wedge and pineapple slice (for garnish)

Instructions
 

  • If desired, rim a glass with Tajín or chili-lime salt by rubbing a lime wedge around the rim and dipping it into the seasoning. Fill the glass with ice.
  • In a cocktail shaker, muddle 2–3 slices of jalapeño with lime juice and agave nectar to release their flavor.
  • Add mezcal, pineapple juice, orange liqueur, and ice to the shaker. Shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until well chilled.
  • Strain the mixture into the prepared glass over fresh ice.
  • Garnish with a slice of jalapeño, a lime wedge, and/or a pineapple slice. Serve immediately and enjoy responsibly!
