  • 3 ripe bananas
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts or chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
  • In a large mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth, leaving a few lumps if preferred for texture.
  • Add melted butter, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract to the mashed bananas. Stir until well combined.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon (if using).
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
  • Fold in any optional mix-ins like nuts or chocolate chips if desired.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
  • Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Allow the banana bread to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
